Video Enhancer is a Chrome browser extension that enhances video playback on any website by providing speed control, picture-in-picture mode, keyboard shortcuts, speed memory, and video screenshots. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

Data Collection

We do not collect any user data. Specifically, we do NOT collect:

• Personal identification information (name, email, address, etc.)
• Financial or payment information
• Authentication credentials
• Personal communications
• Location data or IP addresses
• Browsing history
• User activity or behavior tracking
• Website content beyond what is needed for video control

Local Storage

The extension uses Chrome's local storage API (chrome.storage.local) to save your preferences on your device only. This includes:

• Playback speed preference per website
• Feature toggle states (PiP, speed memory, shortcuts)

This data never leaves your browser. It is not transmitted to any server, cloud, or third party.

Permissions Explained

• storage: Save your speed preferences and settings locally on your browser.
• activeTab: Detect and control video elements on the current tab when you interact with the extension.
• scripting: Inject content scripts to control video playback (speed, PiP, screenshots) on web pages.
• Host permissions (all_urls): The extension works on any website that contains video content. We cannot predict which sites you will visit, so broad access is required.

Third-Party Services

This extension does not integrate with or send data to any third-party services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks.

Remote Code

This extension does not use any remote code. All JavaScript and resources are included within the extension package.

Children's Privacy

Our extension does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
